Apples are certainly delicious too and most of us have heard the maxim "an apple a day keeps the doctor away." So, my operating assumption was that apples must be jam-packed with micronutrients. When I actually pulled up the data, I was very surprised.
Chicken eggs won on almost all counts when it came to nutrient density, with the exception of vitamin C. Remember, most of those nutrients are in the YOLK!
Maybe we should say "a yolk a day keeps the doctor away."
